St. Augustine Nights of Lights runs nightly from November 21, 2026 through January 18, 2027. More than three million white lights illuminate the Historic District, including the Plaza de la Constitución, bayfront, hotels, restaurants and historic buildings.
Where are the lights?
The concentration is in Historic Downtown. The Plaza is the natural center, while St. George Street gives you a pedestrian-only corridor of shops and restaurants. The bayfront adds reflections and wide views. You do not need to chase one single display—the decorated district is the experience.
What time should you go?
Plan around darkness and your reservation time. On a busy weekend, arrive downtown well before your tour so parking and walking do not make you late. Old Town Trolley specifically advises guests to allow extra time because holiday traffic can be heavy.

Walking
Free and flexible, with the best close-up views of the Plaza, storefronts and St. George Street. The tradeoff is more walking and less total coverage.
Trolley / electric vehicle
The easiest way to cover decorated streets while seated. Strong choice for first-timers, families and visitors with limited time.
Boat / sailing
A completely different perspective: the illuminated skyline and bayfront from the water. Strong choice for couples and repeat visitors, but it does not replace walking downtown.

For 2026, Old Town Trolley lists a roughly 30–45 minute ride, departures from the Visitor Information Center at 10 West Castillo Drive, and reservations required. Tours begin November 22 and run through January 18. Other operators offer electric vehicles, private carts, walking tours and specialty experiences, so compare format—not just price.
Parking and arrival
If you are driving, the Historic Downtown Parking Facility is beside the Visitor Information Center and is convenient for several activities. Private lots exist throughout downtown. On shuttle dates, perimeter parking can be easier, but the final 2026–27 Park & Ride details are still pending. Avoid assuming last season’s shuttle schedule will repeat unchanged.
What to wear
Florida evenings can still feel chilly, especially on open vehicles and boats. Layers matter more than the daytime forecast. For water tours, bring a warmer outer layer than you think you need; wind over the bay can make the temperature feel lower.
Best nights for different travelers
Weeknights generally offer a better shot at a calmer experience than peak Saturdays. Families may prefer an earlier tour followed by dessert. Couples may like sunset-to-dark boat departures. If you are visiting during the Christmas-to-New-Year stretch, treat hotel and tour reservations as the anchors of the trip.
